85hr Yoga & Mindfulness for Pregnancy, Birth and Motherhood

With course leaders Kat Aydin, Joanne Ewen, & Dr Karen Kirkness

Join us in a teacher training course that will allow you to safely teach yoga to pregnant & postnatal clients. Our joint faculty has over 50 years of yoga experience and a shared passion for sharing yoga with mothers-to-be as a powerful tool for mind-body connection. We have designed this contemporary curriculum to empower course participants to fully nurture your students at this beautifully transformative time in their lives: the journey into parenthood.

This course is suitable for yoga teachers looking for CPD to add pregnancy or postnatal focused classes to their timetable, or for those new to teaching looking to specialise in pre & postnatal yoga teaching.  The course is accredited by the Yoga Alliance.

As well as enabling you to understand the anatomy & physiology of pregnancy and birth that is key to delivering a pregnancy class, you will learn how yoga can support mothers physically and emotionally as their body undergoes many changes.  We will also discover how yoga can support the body's recovery in the postnatal period.

Your faculty could not be more committed to yoga for supporting women’s health: Kat Aydin is a passionate advocate for bringing yoga to pregnant women in her popular pregnancy yoga classes in Edinburgh. Joanne Ewen has been nurturing new mothers in her legendary Mum & Baby classes for over a decade as well as running the Vinyasa Yoga training at Meadowlark Yoga.

Studio owner, Dr Karen Kirkness, holds a masters degree in human anatomy and a PhD in medical sciences, with special interest in the female phenotype. She is a mother of two with nearly 25 years experience practicing and teaching yoga. We bring Nikki Hunter, pregnancy yoga teacher, on board to support the training and round out this team of committed women ready to encourage you on your journey into teaching..

Mindfulness and yoga are incredibly powerful tools which can be accessed during any birth, this course will provide you with a variety of techniques which can be shared with students when preparing for their birth journey, whatever their birth choice, or, whichever birth chooses them.
