Studio 70 strives to be an accessible space, connected to our local community.
We are continually developing and enhancing our offerings to serve our students and encourage more people to explore the benefits of yoga, pilates, reformer, and more.
Here are some initiatives we have in place currently - if you think something is missing, have any barriers to coming along, or have accessibility needs you’d like to chat about, please feel free to email us at info@studio70glasgow.com
Arrival
You can book classes, sign in and access the studio without needing to verbally interact with anyone if you don’t want to. We also know that life gets in the way, and you can cancel a class up to 12 hours prior for no charge (a late fee applies outwith this window).
Facilities
Our toilets are all gender neutral, and we have period products and toiletries available. The studio is up 25 stairs which are quite narrow but have a handrail. To access Willow studio for mat based classes there is an additional two steps up and two steps down. The studio has good public transport links on Victoria Road, with cycle racks and free street parking outside.
Consent
We will always ask for consent when giving hands on assists and adjustments. This is communicated through consent cards, meaning you can change your mind at any point during your practice.
Autonomy
We focus on meeting your body where you are, not pushing you into something that’s not available to you. Everything offered in our classes is a suggestion, and you can feel empowered to choose what is right for you, in that moment, on that day.
Pacing
We encourage you to take breaks during class, and don’t encourage people to practice unrealistic amounts.
Props
We have a wide range of props available in studio, from blocks and bolsters to straps and blankets. Use whatever you want or need in all of our classes. You can also hire a mat for £1 if you aren’t able to bring your own.
Pricing
We have different pricing options on offer, including a student discount. Contact us for more information if price is a barrier for you, we can help.
Training
Continued inclusion and accessibility training is important to us. We have run LGBTQA+, trauma awareness and hands on assists training for our teachers, with the intention to make our studio as inclusive as we can. Please check with individual teachers for their qualifications and specialisms, and also feel free to share if there is some additional training you’d like to see run at the studio.
Protected characteristics
We are a black and female owned business. We regularly offer classes for groups with protected characteristics, including monthly Queer Yoga and Yin Yoga for Queer Trans POC.
